STUDENTS IN FREE ENTERPRISE TEAM FROM K-STATE SALINA HEADED TO NATIONALS
SALINA -- Kansas State University Salina's Students In Free Enterprise team is preparing to compete at the national level.
The team was named a league champion at a recent regional competition in Dallas, earning the right to advance to the national contest May 10-12 in Minneapolis.
"This is a great accomplishment for our team," said Kristin Scheele, senior in technology management and professional pilot, Odell, Neb., and team president. "We gave our best performance at regionals and it felt great. We're all excited to be going to nationals in May."
At the regional competition, teams presented to a panel of judges about the projects they had worked on throughout the year and their impact on the community. Teams were ranked according to their impact.
This is the fourth time in the last seven years that K-State Salina's Students In Free Enterprise team has advanced to the national competition.
"We take this competition very seriously," Scheele said. "The team has worked hard all year and this is our time to shine. We show up in our business suits with a smile and a passion for business. We show them what K-State Salina's Students In Free Enterprise team is all about."
