Industrial and manufacturing systems engineering students earn honors

MANHATTAN -- Outstanding academic achievement and involvement by students in the industrial and manufacturing systems engineering department at Kansas State University is being recognized with awards and scholarships.

The honors were presented at the department's recent spring semester awards banquet. Also presented were awards were from the senior chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers Greater Kansas City, as well as scholarships provided by the department and various organizations. 

Students earning honors include:

* Jordan Bever, senior in the concurrent bachelor's/master's industrial engineering program, Hutchinson, the Institute of Industrial Engineers' Alpha Hardcharger award. Bever is the daughter of Jim and Janet Bever and a 2008 graduate of Hutchinson High School.

* Patrick Hawn, sophomore in industrial engineering, Hutchinson, Outstanding Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering Sophomore. Hawn is the son of Holly Hawn, Beloit, and Raymond Hawn, Independence, and a 2011 graduate of Hutchinson High School.

* Kyle Neely, senior in industrial engineering, Lenexa, Outstanding Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering Senior. Neely, a 2010 graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School, is the son of Art and Cindy Neely.

* Courtney Faucett, freshman in industrial engineering, Manhattan, received the Outstanding Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering Freshman. Faucett is a 2012 graduate of Manhattan High School and is the daughter of Richard Faucett and Susan Arnett, Lawton, Okla.

* Tom Bolton, junior in industrial engineering, Overland Park, the Institute of Industrial Engineers' Beta Hardcharger award. Bolton is the son of John and Susan Bolton. He is a 2010 graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School.

* Sarah Pavlu, senior in industrial engineering, Overland Park, the Institute of Industrial Engineers' Gamma Hardcharger award and the Jacob Smaltz Senior Academic Achievement Award. Pavlu, a 2009 graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School, is the daughter of Ken and Susan Pavlu.

* Adam Robl, junior in industrial engineering, Salina, the George L. Dickey Memorial Scholarship as the outstanding industrial and manufacturing systems engineering junior. He is a 2010 graduate of Salina South High School and the son of Dale Robl, Ellinwood, and Judy Robl, Garden City.

* Andrew Waldman, senior in the concurrent bachelor's/master's industrial engineering program, Shawnee, the Lynn E. Bussey Memorial Graduate Award for outstanding achievement in graduate study. A 2009 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, he is the son of Alan and Laura Portis, Shawnee, and Steve Waldman, Olathe.

* Ryan Aeschliman, senior in industrial engineering, Topeka, the Jacob Smaltz Senior Academic Achievement Award. A 2010 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School, he is the son of Roger and Robyn Aeschliman.

* Hannah Tritschler, sophomore in industrial engineering, Wichita, the Outstanding Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering Sophomore. A 2011 graduate of Wichita Heights High School, Tritschler is the daughter of Frank and Jolene Tritschler.
