Thursday, April 18, 2013

MANHATTAN -- The world-renowned ballet "Swan Lake" will be performed at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in McCain Auditorium as part of the McCain Performance Series.

Set to one of Tchaikovsky's most endearing scores, this timeless ballet tells the story of a young man's love and betrayal of a swan queen. Its universal themes have made it one of the most popular classical ballets of all time.

From its first performance at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in 1877, "Swan Lake" has enchanted audiences around the world with its classic fairy tale themes of princesses, evil sorcerers, magic spells, and plot lines that continue to engage audiences and inspire new generations of dancers today.

Tickets for "Swan Lake" cost from $17-$65, plus applicable taxes and fees, and can be purchased at the McCain Auditorium box office, by phone at 785-532-6428 or online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain.
