Excellence on board: Avionics students earn industry certifications
SALINA -- When it comes to aviation electronics, students in Kansas State University Salina's avionics program are proving they know their stuff.
Four K-State Salina avionics students earned industry certification from the National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies. The testing was offered at the recent Aircraft Electronics Association's U.S. Central Region meeting in Kansas City, Mo.
While at the three-day meeting, the students also attended regulatory and technical seminars, business management sessions and exhibits, which provided them with opportunities to learn about new technology, network with industry leaders and learn best practices of the aviation electronics repair station industry.
K-State Salina students earning avionics certification included:
Adam Bellerive, junior in aviation maintenance, Salina, Aircraft Electronics Technician certification; Michael Hetchler, senior in avionics maintenance technology, St. Charles, Mo., Aircraft Electronics Technician and Foreign Object Elimination certifications; Russel Richardson, senior in avionics maintenance technology, Adams, Neb., Aircraft Electronics Technician and Foreign Object Elimination certifications; and John Seim, senior in avionics maintenance technology, Chapman, Neb., Aircraft Electronics Technician and Foreign Object Elimination certifications.
