K-STATE'S ADVANCED MANUFACTURING INSTITUTE WINS ADVERTISING AWARD

MANHATTAN -- A new brochure for the Advanced Manufacturing Institute at Kansas State University made in collaboration with jones huyett Partners, a Topeka-based marketing and advertising firm, has received an Addy award from the American Advertising Federation.

The brochure emphasizes the institute's broad spectrum of services and ability to work with businesses of all sizes in a wide variety of markets, including manufacturing, transportation, aerospace, consumer, products, agriculture, food, chemicals, plastics, bioprocessing, equipment and machinery, said Lea Studer, marketing and communications manager for the Advanced Manufacturing Institute.

"We really enjoyed working with jhP; it was a great team effort," Studer said. "The team at jhP was very creative, professional and did a wonderful job helping us develop our new brochure and Web site."

K-State students Briana Jackson, senior in mass communication, Topeka, and Erin Rasmussen, senior in marketing, Wichita, also assisted with the projects. Both Jackson and Rasmussen are interns at the Advanced Manufacturing Institute.

"My internship at the Advanced Manufacturing Institute was a great way for me to gain experience, hone my writing and communication skills, and work with a diverse group of people. It was a truly amazing opportunity," Jackson said.

"Lea and the team at the Advanced Manufacturing Institute had a clear vision of their goals, provided us with great assets and allowed us the independence to push the design envelope," said Alissa Sheley, jhP account executive on the project.

The Advanced Manufacturing Institute is a part of K-State's College of Engineering and a Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation Center of Excellence that provides innovative and cost effective engineering and business solutions.
