MANHATTAN — Michael F. Goss, former managing director and head of global investor relations for Bain Capital, will be the spring 2015 speaker for the Kansas State University College of Business Administration's Distinguished Lecture Series.
The lecture will begin at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, in Forum Hall at the K-State Student Union. The event is free and open to the public.
Goss retired from Bain Capital in December 2013 following thirteen years with the firm in various senior managerial capacities. He joined Bain Capital in 2001 as managing director and chief financial officer. In 2004, he assumed the additional role of chief operating officer, adding responsibility for Bain Capital's global human resources, legal and investor relations activities. During this period, Bain Capital raised more than $10 billion in new investor capital under his leadership. Today, he serves as a special advisor to the firm while pursuing independent business, philanthropic and personal activities.
Prior to joining Bain Capital, Goss was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Digitas Inc., a rapidly growing, worldwide digital media firm that he helped take public on behalf of its private equity backers. Between 1994 and 1999, he was executive vice president, chief financial officer and a member of the board of directors of Playtex Products Inc.
Goss graduated magna cum laude from Kansas State University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in economics. He graduated with distinction from the Harvard Business School in 1986 with a Master of Business Administration. He is member of the board of directors of Platform Specialty Products, Tennis Channel Inc., International Tennis Hall of Fame, Kansas State University Foundation and Tenacity Inc.
