Epoxy vapors temporarily close Bluemont Hall
Thursday, July 25, 2013
MANHATTAN -- Epoxy vapors have temporarily closed Bluemont Hall.
On Thursday, Kansas State University safety officials evacuated the hall, and the building is being ventilated entirely with outside air. Officials ask the public to avoid going to Bluemont Hall at this time.
No one has been harmed, but university employees who work in Bluemont Hall have been evacuated as an extra safety precaution.
Workers were laying an epoxy floor of a lecture hall when improper ventilation caused the vapors to spread throughout the building, said Lisa Linck, public safety officer.
Campus will be advised when the hall will reopen. For more information, check http://www.k-state.edu.
