Pop and jazz a cappella ensemble m-pact added to McCain Performance Series

MANHATTAN — The McCain Performance Series at Kansas State University is adding even more star power to its 2015-2016 lineup with the addition of award-winning pop and jazz a cappella ensemble m-pact at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in McCain Auditorium.
The pop-jazz vocal group uses the power of the human voice — without the autotune and overproduction — to bring the smooth soul of Stevie Wonder, the percussive power of Stomp, the funk and drive of Earth Wind & Fire, the hip licks of Take 6, the brass bite of the Harry Connick Jr. Big Band and more.
"I found out this group was going to be in the Kansas City area for a major arts conference later in the week, so I invited them to Kansas State University to perform at McCain," said Todd Holmberg, McCain director. "M-pact will be a tremendous follow up to the success we had last season with the a cappella sensation Straight No Chaser, whose fans are sure to love m-pact."
Tickets for m-pact start at $11, plus applicable taxes and fees, and are available now at the McCain Auditorium box office, online at k-state.edu/mccain, or by calling 785-532-6428. A schedule of the 2015-2016 McCain Performance Series is also available at the website.
