NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FROM K-STATE, COMMUNITY FOR SIXTH ANNUAL CELEBRATING PEOPLE IN ACTION COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS
MANHATTAN -- The K-State Volunteer Center of Manhattan and the Community First National Bank are currently seeking nominations for the sixth annual Community Service Awards.
The Manhattan community and the Kansas State University campus have a strong tradition of volunteerism and each year many selfless individuals and organizations give of their time and talents to address critical needs in Manhattan. Their efforts make a significant and lasting impact in the life of the campus and community, and we believe that they deserve recognition for their inspirational leadership, said Richard Weerts, student program coordinator at the K-State Volunteer Center of Manhattan.
This year the Community Service Awards will be awarded to both K-State and community individuals and organizations. Each awardee will receive a plaque and a monetary award to be donated to the community organization of their choice. The awardees and the community organizations will be recognized at a campus-community Celebrating People in Action Awards Ceremony Monday, April 26.
Members of the K-State and the Manhattan community are encouraged to nominate individuals and organizations who have exhibited extraordinary commitment to service and social action based on the following four award categories: outstanding student volunteer; outstanding student organization; outstanding youth volunteer; and outstanding community group.
An awards nomination form and more information on award criteria area available online at:
