Making Wildcats feel at home: Wildcat Warm-up program back for ninth year

MANHATTAN -- Counselors and directors have been selected for a Kansas State University program that helps new students get a head start in their K-State careers.

The Wildcat Warm-up Program, back for its ninth year, is offered in addition to the university's summer orientation and enrollment programs. New students spend three days and two nights at K-State to establish connections with current students and faculty and staff, learn student success strategies and find out about university traditions.

Wildcat Warm-up is aimed at student retention and is supported by registration fees and community sponsors.

This year's Wildcat Warm-up program will be offered June 8-10 and June 15-17.

Selected as Wildcat Warm-up counselors and directors are:

Cameron Banning, sophomore in mass communications, Andover, counselor; Ellen Collingwood, sophomore in marketing and public relations, Beloit, counselor; Kimberly Gerstner, sophomore in microbiology, Colby; Jodi Swendson, sophomore in arts and sciences-open option, Effingham, counselor; Kaitlyn Rogers, sophomore in management, Fredonia, counselor; Allison Niederee, sophomore in biology and pre-medicine, Great Bend, counselor.
