McCain Performance Series presents Soweto Gospel Choir on March 30

MANHATTAN — The Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir will perform at Kansas State University's McCain Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, as part of the McCain Performance Series.
The choir was formed in 2002 to celebrate the inspirational power of African gospel music. The choir draws on the talent from the many churches in and around Soweto, South Africa, and is dedicated to sharing the joy of faith through music and dance with audiences around the world.
Since its formation, the Soweto Gospel Choir has toured the world, recorded five albums and two DVDs, and has won countless awards in South Africa, the United States and Australia. The choir has performed with Bono, Queen, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and more. Choir members also are ambassadors for the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the choir's patron is Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
