TOPEKA STUDENT IS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION'S 2011 OUTSTANDING SENIOR
MANHATTAN -- Lesley Wichern, senior in accounting at Kansas State University, is the College of Business Administration's spring 2011 outstanding senior.
Wichern, Topeka, has served as a business ambassador for two years and is the 2010-2011 president of the business student council and vice president of Beta Alpha Psi, a financial information honorary organization.
She is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and has received numerous awards and honors, including the Dean's Choice Scholarship twice and the K-State Medallion Scholarship.
"The term 'outstanding senior' describes Lesley well," said Joey Kinney, senior in accounting and finance and chair of the outstanding senior selection committee. "Her affection for the college and her fellow students is demonstrated by the time she spends coordinating undergraduate tutoring programs and her commitment to her student job in the office of student services -- all while maintaining excellence in the classroom."
This summer Wichern will be in Kansas City, Mo., doing an internship at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In the fall she will start the master of accountancy program at the College of Business Administration and will be a teaching assistant in accounting. Her goal is to work in forensic accounting.
A 2007 graduate of Washburn Rural High School, she is the daughter of James and Debra Wichern, Topeka. She has two sisters, including a her twin sister, Laura.
