Beach Museum of Art honoring military families with summer discounts

MANHATTAN -- The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art is one of more than 1,800 Blue Star Museums across the United States to offer free admission to military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Because the Beach Museum of Art offers free admission year round, the museum is participating further by offering a $10 Military Family Friends Membership. This provides military families with a 50 percent discount on classes and workshops and one gift per family for children under 12. The museum will also host two open houses, plus summer programming for families.
"We have enjoyed partnering with the Beach Museum on several Healing Arts Programs for Military Families during the past year," said Briana Nelson Goff, director of K-State's Institute for the Health and Security of Military Families. "The Beach Museum programs provide an outstanding outreach opportunity by opening the doors to K-State for service members, veterans and families who are our neighbors in the Flint Hills region, either temporarily or who become permanent residents after serving here."
Blue Star Museums is a collaboration of the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,800 museums across the nation. Leadership support has been provided by MetLifeFoundation through Blue Star Families.
