Students lend talents to university commencement ceremonies

Several Kansas State University students will be part of the university's upcoming commencement ceremonies -- May 11, 17 and 18 -- as performers, musicians and speakers. A live webcast of the ceremonies will be available at http://www.k-state.edu/graduation/.
The students include:
* Drew Hansen, bachelor's degree candidate in applied music, Berryton, will perform the national anthem at the College of Arts and Sciences commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Heather Gibson, bachelor's degree candidate in agribusiness, Copeland, will speak at the College of Agriculture commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Ryan Ackerman, bachelor's degree candidate in finance, Dodge City, will be the student speaker at the College of Business Administration commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Hannah Miller, bachelor's degree candidate in agricultural economics, Enterprise, will perform the national anthem at the College of Agriculture commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Larissa Hall, bachelor's degree candidate in biological systems engineering, Garden City, will perform the national anthem and alma mater at the College of Engineering commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Tyler Meek, freshman in music education, Gardner, will play the tuba for the brass quintet performing at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design and College of Engineering commencement ceremonies, both on May 18.
* Paul Meissbach, sophomore in vocal performance, Lawrence, will be a member of the K-State men's trio performing the national anthem and alma mater at the College of Business Administration commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Kellyn Harrison, freshman in music education, Leawood, will play the horn for the brass quintet performing at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design and College of Engineering commencement ceremonies, both on May 18.
* William Mann, master's degree candidate in landscape architecture, Lenexa, will perform the national anthem at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Amanda Mihelcic, master's degree candidate in architecture, Lenexa, will perform the national anthem at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Timothy Cassidy, master's candidate in music, Liberal, will perform the national anthem for the Graduate School commencement ceremony on May 17.
* Kody Lynn, bachelor's degree candidate in marketing, Lindsborg, will be a member of the K-State men's trio to perform the national anthem and alma mater at the College of Business Administration commencement ceremony on May 18.
* D.J. Davis, bachelor's degree candidate in applied music, Manhattan, will perform the national anthem at the College of Arts and Sciences commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Rachel Hunt, freshman in vocal performance, Manhattan, will perform the national anthem at the College of Education commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Bryce Craig, bachelor's degree candidate in applied music, Olathe, will conduct the national anthem at the College of Arts and Sciences commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Kristin Henry, master's degree candidate in interior architecture and product design, Oskaloosa, will perform the national anthem at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Zachary Bruggen, doctor of veterinary medicine candidate, Overland Park, and president of the veterinary medicine class of 2013, will give the student address at the College of Veterinary Medicine commencement ceremony on May 17.
* Lauren Ewald, master's degree candidate in landscape architecture, Overland Park, will perform the national anthem at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Lana Keltner, master's degree candidate in architecture, Overland Park, will perform the national anthem at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Margaret Weller, bachelor's degree candidate in communication sciences and disorders, Overland Park, will give the student address at the College of Human Ecology commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Stephanie Kisler, master's degree candidate in regional and community planning, Prairie Village, will speak at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Trask Engel, senior in accounting, Salina, will be a member of the K-State men's trio performing the national anthem and alma mater at the College of Business Administration commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Andrew Broeckelman, bachelor's degree candidate in biological systems engineering, Selden, will perform the national anthem and alma mater at the College of Engineering commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Kristen Eck, bachelor's degree candidate in elementary education, Sharon, will give the student commencement address at the College of Education commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Kirsten Hyde, bachelor's degree candidate in applied music, Shawnee, will perform the national anthem at the College of Arts and Sciences commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Amber Laudick, bachelor's degree candidate in food science and industry, Spring Hill, will perform the national anthem at the College of Agriculture commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Jacob Miller, junior in music education, Valley Center, will play the trombone for the brass quintet performing at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design and College of Engineering commencement ceremonies on May 18.
* Meghan Rush, bachelor's degree candidate in wildlife and outdoor enterprise management, Wellsville, will perform the national anthem at the College of Agriculture commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Tyler Lewis, junior in aeronautical technology, Aurora, Colo., and president of the Student Governing Association at K-State Salina, will perform the processional and give the student address for commencement at K-State Salina on May 11. He also is the student marshal for the ceremony.
* Kevin Cunningham, master's degree candidate in landscape architecture, Denver, Colo., will speak at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Taylor Wadian, doctoral student in psychology, Fayette, Iowa, and president of the Graduate Student Council, will speak at the Graduate School commencement ceremony on May 17.
* Andrew Helseth, master's degree candidate in architecture, Edina, Minn., will perform the national anthem at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Alexander Callow, master's degree candidate in architecture, Graham, Mo., will speak at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Felicia Balestrere, master's degree candidate in interior architecture and product design, Kansas City, Mo., will speak at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Caleb Wurth, bachelor's degree candidate in feed science and management, Kansas City, Mo., will give the student address for the College of Agriculture commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Joshua Farley, master's degree candidate in landscape architecture, New Bloomfield, Mo., will perform the national anthem at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Kira Klein, bachelor's degree candidate in architectural engineering, St. Louis, Mo., will give the student address at the College of Engineering commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Adam Ladd, master's student in music, Huron, Ohio, will play the trumpet for the brass quintet performing at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design and College of Engineering commencement ceremonies on May 18.
* Jim Johnson, master's candidate in music, Belle Vernon, Pa., will play the trumpet for the brass quintet performing at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design and College of Engineering commencement ceremonies on May 18.
* Randall Frye, master's student in music, Polk, Pa., will perform the processional and recessional at the Graduate School ceremony on May 17 and at the College of Education, College of Business Administration, College of Agriculture and College of Human Ecology commencement ceremonies on May 18.
* Donovan Woods, senior in applied music, Bedford, Texas, will perform the national anthem and alma mater at the College of Human Ecology commencement ceremony on May 18.
* Joshua Burkhart, master's degree candidate in interior architecture and product design, Wylie, Texas, will perform the national anthem at the College of Architecture, Planning and Design commencement ceremony on May 18.
