MANHATTAN -- Four Kansas State University students are receiving fall 2010 scholarships from the university's chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society.
Winners of the $750 Phi Kappa Phi scholarships were selected based on grade point average, honors and awards received; community involvement; letters of recommendation; and an essay outlining how their education and experiences at K-State support their career objectives.
Scholarship winners include:
Ashley Eck, senior in secondary education, Augusta; Lauren Jader, senior in kinesiology and pre-physical therapy, Gibbon, Neb.; Sarah Wildman, senior in professional pilot, South Charleston, Ohio; and Jithma Prasad Abeykoon, senior in biochemistry and premedicine, Sri Lanka.
Scholarship winners will be honored at the Phi Kappa Phi fall reception at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, in the Flint Hills Room at the K-State Student Union.
