Chinese circus troupe brings feats of balance, juggling, acrobatics and more to McCain stage
MANHATTAN -- The National Circus of the People's Republic of China, "Cirque Chinois," will visit Kansas State University's McCain Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, for a McCain Performance Series presentation.
The troupe, which hails from Beijing, is one of the longest-running and most distinguished circus troupes in China. Its act features lavish costumes, stunning lighting and incredible feats of balance, juggling, flying and contortion that must be seen to be believed. Cirque Chinois is credited with influencing the early performers of Cirque du Soleil.
The elements of this full-scale theatrical production combine to create a family-friendly show.
Tickets cost $18-$48 with applicable taxes and fees. They can be purchased at the McCain Auditorium box office, by phone at 785-532-6428, or online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain.
