McCain Performance Series: Classic Shakespeare play 'Merchant of Venice' brings comedy, tragedy to Nichols Theatre
MANHATTAN -- Actors from the London Stage, one of the oldest touring Shakespeare theater companies in the world, will bring "The Merchant of Venice" to Nichols Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25-27 as part of Kansas State University's McCain Performance Series.
This provocative comedy begins with Bassanio's quest for Portia, but it is soon apparent that the road to true love will not be smooth. When plans go awry, betrayal and anger face a standoff against compassion, and everyone involved is left to question justice, the power of love and just how far people will go to belong.
Ticket prices range from $16-$38. Tickets can be purchased at the McCain Auditorium box office, by phone at 785-532-6428, or online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain/.
