K-State Salina's Civic Luncheon Lecture to explore models for community discussion

SALINA -- Models for community involvement on important issues will be the focus of Kansas State University Salina's Civic Luncheon Lecture, which starts at noon Thursday, Sept. 12, in the College Center Conference Room on the Salina campus.
A panel of community leaders will take part in the event. The Salina/Saline County Health Department community decision process will be used as a case study, with a presentation and discussion to focus mainly on ways to get the community involved on key issues. Event moderation will be provided by Kansas State University's Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy and Myles Alexander, project coordinator at the university's Center for Engagement and Community Development. The institute and center are on the Manhattan campus.
The public is invited to attend the free event. Bring your own bag lunch or eat at the K-State Cafe, which opens at 11:30 a.m.
