Dr. Vicky Fondjo
In 1999, Dr. Vicky Yolande Fondjo received a B.S. degree in Physics and an M.Sc. degree in Physics (minor in mechanics) from the University of Yaoundé I in Yaoundé, Cameroon, in 2000. She received a second M.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics (Mathematical Modelling and Simulations of Complex Realities) from the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy 2004. She received a Ph.D. in Nonlinear Modelling and Simulation in Engineering, Biomimetics, and Prototypes from the University of Yaoundé I and The International Centre for Theoretical Physics in 2009 under the ICTP – IAEA Sandwich Training Educational Program (STEP). After serving as an Adjunct Professor (Department of Mathematics, Department of Science, and Department of Computer and Information Science) at both Langston University and Oklahoma City Community College, Oklahoma, from June 2008 to December 2012, she joined the math department at Langston University as a full-time tenure track assistant professor in January 2013. Dr. Vicky Fondjo has been an associate professor in the math department at Langston University since January 2019.
Her research is directed toward modeling and simulation of the dynamics of the network of chaotic nonlinear electromechanical systems, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), nano-electromechanical systems (NEMS), dynamical systems, and energy harvesting. She is mainly involved in research fields related to physics, mathematics, and engineering with a transverse link to biology and agriculture. Because of her wish for inter-disciplinarity, no border is related to her activities' scientific topics. She combines analytical, numerical, and experimental methods in her investigations whenever possible. She makes sure to involve students in her research activities so they can build analytical skills and prepare for graduate-level studies.
