Technological and socio-economic implications of soil wetting bacteria in irrigated fields

MICRA Research Thrust 3

Researchers, Dr. Aguilar, Dr. Bolton, Dr. Derby, Dr. Fondjo-Fotou, Dr. Fondjo, Dr. Jha, Dr. Mieno, Dr. Sampson, Dr. Tadesse, and Dr. Taghvaeian will use survey methods and focus groups to collect information on irrigator experiences with and perceptions toward novel precision irrigation technologies. The team will also evaluate barriers to technology adoption/implementation, and how soil conditioning approaches such as soil wetting bacteria and biochar would affect irrigation management.
