"I baste it every nineteen minutes," Dmitri confides.

"How about the Elk Hide?" Adam asks. "That’s spicy."

"Habanero sauce," Gustav says promptly. "From Guatemala."

"Plus a secret ingredient."

"Alder-smoke dried for twelve hours."

"Baste every thirty-four minutes."

"The secret ingredient’s not so secret," Adam says. "Cam told me all about it."
