Biography
Dr. Jacob Narverud is a Visiting Professor at Kansas State University, where he teaches graduate courses in choral conducting. Dr. Narverud is the Founding Artistic Director of the Tallgrass Chamber Choir, a professional ensemble of musicians from across the Great Plains. He also serves as the Editor of Santa Barbara Music Publishing, Inc. and is the Composer-in-Residence with the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus. As a sought-after composer, Dr. Narverud has been commissioned to write new music for more than sixty organizations nationwide, as well as ensembles in Australia, Canada, and Japan. With over 150 published works, many of his titles are international best-sellers and are performed worldwide by choirs of all levels. Dr. Narverud is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) and holds degrees from Emporia State University (BM, Vocal Performance) and the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (MM, DMA, Conducting).
