Pulse

Join the K-State Symphony Orchestra as they open their season celebrating music of the heart. On Thursday, October 10 the KSUSO will perform works that are characterized by and celebrated for their pulse. Featured works include the Shostakovich Festive Overture, Rutter's Suite for Strings, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. Held in the McCain Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., the concert and is free to the public.

First Loves

Celebrating the orchestral overture, the K-State Symphony Orchestra will perform a collection of overtures from opera, music theatre, and works written exclusively for the symphony. Featuring works by Mozart, Rossini, Dvorak, and more, this concert celebrates famous orchestral overtures that propelled the evolution of music throughout history. The orchestra will also feature trombone soloist, Dr. Daniel Hinman. Join the KSUSO Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the McCain Auditorium. This concert is free and open to the public.

Heartbreakers

Love lost and love unrequited are heartbreaking experiences we all have in common. Join the K-State Symphony Orchestra as we perform Symphony No. 2 in D Major by Johannes Brahms—a work filled with hope, yet written through heartbreak. K-State student soloists will also be featured on this concert. Bring your friends to this Galentine's Day performance exploring heartbreak and heartbreakers. Held in the McCain Auditorium on Thursday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m., this concert is free and open to the public.

Monday, March 10, 7:30 p.m. - All Faiths Chapel

Simply Strings

Featuring a variety of K-State String Ensembles, Simply Strings celebrates music for the chamber orchestra and string orchestra. Special guest artist, Dr. David Pickering, will join the K-State Chamber Orchestra performing the famous Adagio in G Minor for Organ and Chamber Orchestra by Albinoni. The concert will be held in the All Faiths Chapel at 7:30 p.m. and is free to attend.

Friday, May 2, 7:30 p.m. - McCain Auditorium

Heartland

In the ensemble's final performance of the season, Heartland, the KSUSO will perform the world premiere of "Alamo", a musical written by Timothy Noble, world renowned opera soloist and Distinguished Professor of Voice at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University . The orchestra will also perform Copland's Appalachian Spring and feature K-State student soloists. Join the KSUSO for this special performance on Friday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the McCain Auditorium.
