Audition Requirements
Undergraduate
-
-Solo of choice demonstrating 2 contrasting styles -OR-
-
-2 contrasting etudes (lyrical and technical)
- -At least 4 scales (1 and 2 octave) and a full-range chromatic scale
Graduate
If auditioning to be a graduate student, the following materials are required
- A concerto or sonata of your choice (all movements)
- Etude #2 from Charlier's 36 Transcendental Etudes
- The following orchestral excerpts
- Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, Promenade
- Respighi's Pines of Rome, Offstage solo
- Mahler's Symphony No. 5, opening solo
