I really love the idea of using QR codes in the classroom since they are pretty much everywhere we go and on everything we buy. They are perfect for providing links to related and beneficial websites without writing out the entire web address with its backslashes a mile long. This QR Code Project is a flyer I would have for my students to take home, as well as posted in my classroom, about the Summer Choral Institute at K-State. I went as a high school student and it was one of the most positive and rewarding experiences I had in high school and was part of what made me choose my career path. Besides the great benefits of working with awesome conductors and students and making new friends, I really push this “camp” over others because Master Teacher gives each student a full ride scholarship to go, making it free and accessible to all students, regardless of income/SES.

“Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline, and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”
