Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative grant information sessions
Tuesday, April 15, 2025
The Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative grant program has already saved students more than $10 million in textbook costs since 2016. Now, K-State instructors are invited to attend upcoming information sessions on applying for an alternative textbook grant.
Attendees will learn best practices when applying for the grant and resources available through the program to support the adoption or creation of open educational resources.
The Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative provides grants between $2,000-$10,000 for instructors to adopt or create open educational resources for their classrooms, making education more affordable to K-State students.
All grant applicants are highly encouraged to attend one of the upcoming general information sessions:
- Noon- 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in 111 Hale Library and via Zoom.
- 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in 111 Hale Library and via Zoom.
The submission deadline to apply for the spring 2024 round of the grant is Monday, April 28. More information about how to submit grant proposals can be found on the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative deadlines webpage.
