Kansas Board of Regents meeting April 16

The Kansas Board of Regents will meet on Wednesday, April 16, at Pittsburg State University. A livestream will be available for individuals to listen remotely.
K-State items on the consent agenda:
K-State requests approval to amend the fiscal year 2025 capital improvement plan and to approve the revised program statement for the Strong Complex residence hall renovations. Higher than anticipated cost escalation and existing conditions during the demolition process have increased the project budget from $32 million to $35 million and extended the project completion date to December 2026. If additional funding is identified, K-State requests approval to increase the budget to $40 million to add additional project components, including a new elevator in Putnam Hall and updated fire alarm systems.
K-State requests approval to amend the fiscal year 2025 capital improvement plan and to approve the revised program statement for the Moore Hall bathroom renovation project. Higher than anticipated escalation and bid results have increased the project budget from $3.7 million to $5.715 million.
The Regents will adopt cybersecurity standards for state universities. The NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is recommended as the system-wide security standard.
K-State item on the discussion agenda:
The Regents will receive the first read of the state universities' capital improvement requests and five-year plans for fiscal year 2027.
