Where to Find Housing

Searching for housing can be an overwhelming task. Below are a few resources to get you started. Also, here is a checklist to help you keep straight the different apartments you have viewed.

Search Engines	Simply Googling "Manhattan apartments" is a great place to start. Smartphone Applications	Here are just a few apps to download to help find your next home: Zumper, Trulia, Homes.com, Zillow
Facebook	On Facebook there are several K-State Facebook groups designed specifically to help K-State students who already have housing find roommates and vice versa. One is called "Housing." Another is called "For Rent/Sublease--Apts, Duplexes, Houses @ KSU." For six month subleases check out "Wildcats Abroad, Sub-Leasers Wanted."
Craiglist	Craiglist can be a good place to look for houses, roommates, or subleasers. However, because anyone can post on Craiglist, be on the lookout for scams. Never visit an apartment by yourself or meet strangers alone.
Manhattan Landlords Listing	The Office of Off-Campus Housing Support has compiled contact information of known landlords and apartment complexes in Manhattan as of August, 2013.
Ask Friends	Ask your friends if they know of any good landlords around and if they have availabilities. Sometimes landlords are only known by word-of-mouth—so ask around!
Manhattan Mercury	The Manhattan Mercury Classifieds is a popular place for landlords to advertise. If you get the newspaper check it out or go to the Manhattan Mercury website: https://themercury.com/Classifieds/Apartments/
K-State Collegian	The K-State Collegian Classifieds is also a great place to check for housing. Pick up a free copy of the newspaper on campus each day or check them out online at https://www.kstatecollegian.com/classifieds/.
Drive Around Town	If you drive around town, often available dwellings will have "For Rent" signs up with contact information. This may be the only form of advertisement for these dwellings—call the numbers listed to get more information.
