Learn about FAFSA and K-State

Scholarships do not need to be repaid and are awarded based on merit or other specific criteria. There are scholarships for future students, continuing students, online students and more.
Loans are financial obligations that must be repaid. These may be federal loans or private loans. Pay close attention to terms and conditions and use a repayment estimator so you know what to expect.
Grants may come from the federal government, the state of Kansas, or Kansas State University, and are usually awarded to students who show financial need. They do not need to be repaid.
Students who show financial need may be able to work part-time on the K-State campus in Manhattan, Salina, or Olathe to help pay for personal and educational expenses.

Sign up for direct deposit to have any remaining financial aid deposited into a personal bank account. This is the quickest and safest way to receive money that is owed to you. It safeguards against lost checks due to misdelivery or a move.
