This 30-minute presentation given by APDesign Dean Michael McClure explores the professions of architecture, interior architecture, industrial design, landscape architecture, and regional and community planning. Get answers about the application and admission process.

Explore and engage in the work of interior architecture and industrial design! Learn about the social, sustainable and human issues through interior architecture and furniture design projects by students.

Landscape architecture work

Work by landscape architecture students will be presented along the first-floor hallways. Please stop in to learn about various planning/design projects that address important social, economic, ecological and local community issues. Visit our mobile “parklet” to learn about the breadth of landscape architecture, how trees benefit the world and how students use our fabrication lab.

LARCP’s BOXhattan
All day, Regnier atrium, Regnier Hall
Help us build BOXhattan! Sponsored by the K-State Student Planning Association and student chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. This event allows you to try your hand at city planning. Using recycled materials, Lego bricks and living plants, learn to assess a city’s physical and economic needs, design harmonious buildings and public spaces, and construct a city that enhances urban livability. Stop by and get your building permit and create a city of the future.

Regional and community planning work

Student work will be on display along the first-floor hallways in Seaton Hall. Learn about planning/design projects that address building vibrant, resilient cities and making a positive difference for people and communities.

Regnier Hall green roofs

Visit the Regnier Hall green roof for a tour of the region’s newest and most advanced green roof laboratory featuring native plant research and demonstration green roofs.

Lego playspace

Show off your creativity and design skills! Come build whatever comes into your mind in the APDesign Lego playspace.

APDesign fabrication labs
All day, Regnier Hall, first floor
Come see how a computer-driven CNC cutter operates in building models and other products. Demonstrations in plasma cutting and 3D printing will be going on all day! Come down to the labs on the basement level of Seaton/Regnier halls or view the interworking of the process from the observation portal.
