A message from the Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police

Welcome to the Kansas State University Division of Public Safety website. On behalf of our officers dispatchers, and staff, I am proud to serve the Kansas State community, and I hope this site is a useful resource whether you are planning a visit, settling in as a new student or employee, or looking for help on campus.
Our mission is simple: to help you feel safe and supported while you learn, work, and visit our beautiful campus. The Kansas State University Police Department is made up of commissioned officers who are certified by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission and hold full powers of arrest under KSA 76-726. Our officers continue training throughout their careers to serve you with the professionalism and skill this community deserves.
We are committed to community policing, which means building real relationships with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Our best work happens in partnership with you, and we welcome your questions, ideas, and feedback. You can find the university's annual crime statistics at www.k-state.edu/studentlife/reportsandpolicies/. If you have questions about those reports, please contact the Office of Student Life at 785-532-6432.
Whenever you need assistance, you can expect a prompt, respectful, and professional response from our team. Safety on campus is a shared responsibility, and I invite every member of our community to take an active role by looking out for yourself, your belongings, and one another. If you see something concerning, please say something.
Together, we can keep Kansas State University a safe place to live, learn, and work.
