Sabri Ciftci

Sabri Ciftci is a professor and Michael W. Suleiman Chair in the Department of Political Science at Kansas State University. He is also the founding director of the Middle East Studies minor. Ciftci is primarily a scholar of Islam and democracy, Muslim political attitudes, Arab public opinion, and Turkish politics. His most recent projects examine religion and state-building in MENA and historical origins of Turkish foreign policy. Ciftci is the author of Islam, Justice, and Democracy (2021, Temple University Press) and co-author of Beyond Piety and Politics (2022, Indiana University Press). He has also widely published in such journals as Comparative Political Studies, Political Research Quarterly, Democratization, International Political Science Review, and Foreign Policy Analysis among others.
