Zhiwei Zhang

Zhiwei Zhang holds a PhD in public administration from the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration of University of Kentucky. Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on public budgeting and finance, public procurement and outsourcing, donors' philanthropy behavior, and nonprofit finance and management. In his most recent projects, he and collaborators study budgetary politics and policy, fiscal policies of natural disasters, and fiscal transparency and accountability; as well as examine the impact of municipal structure on contracting-out outcomes. His work has appeared in such scholarly journals as Public Administration Review, Public Performance and Management Review, Public Administration Quarterly, and Applied Spatial Analysis and Policy. Dr Zhang serves as an editorial board member for the American Review of Public Administration.
A member of K-State faculty since 2013, Dr. Zhang teaches course on public finance, public budgeting, financial management for nonprofit organizations, and introduction to public administration.
