Digital Accessibility Implementation Plan/Timeline
The Digital Accessibility Task Force released its implementation plan and timeline on March 24 after vetting with the Faculty Senate Committee on Technology, the Academic Leadership Council, and President's Cabinet. The plan was the result of initial policy review, web and academic content review, and additional efforts to inform an initial Task Force report.

Implementation Plan and Timeline
Assessment and Planning
January-March 2025
- Assess and identify policies requiring review.
- Initiate review of purchasing process.
- Stakeholder identification.
- Sampling audit of academic content and materials; determine areas of compliance deficiency and document needs.
- Sampling audit of web content and materials; determine areas of compliance deficiency and document needs.
- Identify potential resources/tools and budget.
- Build out detailed implementation plan and compliance roadmap for review/approval by March 2025 (including budget).
- Communicate on progress.
Building the Foundation
March-August 2025
- Draft policy changes with owners and engage governance as appropriate.
- Communicate policy updates and expectations.
- Identify final list of one-time remediation resources/tools and recurring resources/tools.
- Confirm budget and lead through purchasing and onboarding.
- Identify staff resources required to implement tools and build/support implementation teams accordingly, engaging both academic and web stakeholders.
- Build out resources/tools for launch by August 2025.
- Begin creating trainings, both academic and web.
- Initial workshops with faculty and web content authorities to introduce concepts and encourage incremental change.
- Communicate on progress and trainings as available.
Remediation
August-December 2025
- Lead the academic content implementation by developing trainings and workshops to support faculty in their individual content remediation efforts and in their understanding of the resources available to them.
- Lead the web content implementation by developing trainings and workshops to support faculty/staff in their individual content remediation efforts and in their understanding of the resources available to them.
- Support all training as necessary.
- The Task Force recommends individual content owners use remediation tools for individual audits during this time and consistently work toward remediation completion.
- Ongoing communications on trainings and progress.
Launch
January-April 2026
- Continue to support academic content owner implementation, identifying any issues with remediated academic content.
- Continue to support web content owner implementation, identifying any issues with remediated web content.
- This reflects high-level implementation in spring 2026, remediating any lingering issues along the way, with complete and sustained implementation in summer 2026 and beyond.

May 2026 and Beyond
- Continue to develop new academic and web content under new standards moving forward.
