Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act

The Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA) was passed in 1989 as part of the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act.

All institutions of higher education receiving any form of federal funding must comply with The Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Regulations Act (EDGAR Part 86). This act outlines several requirements, including the production of a biennial review and an annual notification to students and employees.

To comply with the regulations and implement any necessary changes, every two years K-State must conduct a review of its AOD programs to determine the effectiveness and the consistency of sanction enforcement.
