Olivia Haley
Olivia Haley is a doctoral candidate in the department of horticulture and natural desources at Kansas State University. Olivia completed her bachelor's degree at the University of South Carolina, her master’s degree at McGill University, and then worked at IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group for a year and a half before joining her doctoral program at K-State. Olivia conducted research under the supervision of Manreet Bhullar on the Global Food Systems seed grant project, “Application of ultraviolet light technology to enhance the safety of agricultural water on Kansas fresh produce farms.”
Educational background:
- Bachelor of Science in the Department of Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina.
- Master’s degree in plant sciences from McGill University, Quebec, Canada.
“I learned the different gaps in communication from academia to industry, or academia to growers, and then between industry and growers. I had the opportunity to chat with growers about ultraviolet light as part of the presentations for the seed grant.”
