Pravin Godkhindi
Pravin Godkhindi is a
flute (Bansuri) player and follows the Hindustani
style of music. He is a trained Electrical Engineer and is
an alumnus of SDM College of Engineering and Technology,
Dharwad, Karnataka.
Pravin Godkhindi is a
gifted artiste, with many talents. He is a composer, a
vocalist, an actor, a table artiste and a harmonium player,
apart from what he is best at – the Bansuri. He plays
traditional as well as western style of flute. He has given
many concerts and is a regular musician at the All India
Radio (AIR).
He began toying with the
flute at an early age of three and trained under the able
guidance of his father and his only flute guru, Shri
Venkatesh Godkhindi. He believes that the flute is very
close to human voice and except for a few notes, what the
vocalist brings out through his voice can be brought out
through the flute. He runs a school called Sanjog
Mahavidyalaya in Bengaluru(Bangalore), Karnataka, to train
students in bamboo flute.
