The Social Work Program is seeking applications for an assistant professor/tenure track position to begin in August 2016.

This position includes teaching, research and service in a CSWE accredited undergraduate Social Work Program in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work. Kansas State University is a Division I Research Institution with opportunities for interdisciplinary research. This position is based on the Manhattan campus. Candidates are required to have:

1. PhD or equivalent degree in Social Work or social science field and a Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program and two years post MSW social work practice experience.

2. Practice, teaching and/or research experience in social work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and/or communities.

3. Demonstrated potential for developing a focused line of research.

4. Demonstrated potential for securing extramural funding.

5. Qualified for Social Work licensure in Kansas.

Teaching assignment will include five courses per academic year in a combination of the following content areas: Practice, Research, Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Social Welfare and Policy. Specific teaching assignments are made with consideration of interests and expertise of all teaching faculty. Fulltime/tenure-track faculty members are expected to initiate and complete a focused line of research. An understanding of diversity and experience working with a diverse student body is significant. Knowledge of research methods and evidence based practice is essential. Responsibilities include academic advising, student admissions, department and university committees and pursuit of extramural funding.

The Social Work Program has approximately 200 students in Manhattan and 40 in Salina. A total of nine faculty members staff the program with six in Manhattan and three in Salina.
