Certificate in Person-Centered Case Management
Why wait to start earning professional certifications?
Helping professionals who possess a PCCM certificate are able to provide and bill for case management services to persons receiving substance use disorder treatment in Kansas. K-State’s Addiction Counseling program has partnered with the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services to make it possible for students to receive this certificate prior to graduation.
Students who receive a passing grade ADC 595 Holistic Recovery and Addiction Services Administration or SOCWK 310 Case Management and Holistic Recovery are eligible to become Person-Centered Case Management Certified at any point before or after graduation.
PCCM Eligibility Requirements
All students must have participated in the Kansas Department for Disability and Aging Services (KDADS) synchronous virtual or in-person PCCM training offered as part of ADC 595 or SOCWK 310. Students must also meet one of the below additional requirements:
OPTION 1: Students possess an associate’s degree, from an accredited college or university, with 27 hours in Substance Use Disorder core classes.
OPTION 2: Students can demonstrate successful completion of a minimum of 27 hours of KSU-approved courses.
OPTION 3: Students have been employed a minimum of 2 years at one or more helping agencies, including but not limited to law enforcement and certain armed service assignments. Work experience is not excluded to providing direct client services. Even if a student worked as a support staff member or office manager at a helping agency, they will likely meet Option 3’s eligibility criteria.
OPTION 4: Students who can demonstrate a combination of options 1, 2, and/or 3 are also eligible.
OPTION 5: Students possess a diploma (or higher) in a helping profession such as addiction counseling, social work, psychology, sociology, criminology, etc.
