Device with internet access is required. Tasks are best completed using an iPad or laptop/computer (not a phone or iPod)

Come explore the world of coding! In this class, you’ll use block coding to brush up on your coding skills or learn to code for the first time! We’ll go over coding basics and strategies to create the most efficient programs to successfully complete tasks using coding blocks. Activities start at the basic level and become more complex the further you get through the program. This class is for beginning and intermediate coders and learned skills can be applied to any block coding program/application. It’s fun for everyone!

Every day you make decisions using probability and most likely don’t even realize it. Do you know the details about a deck of cards or understand why the numbers fall as they do on a 6-sided die? In this course, we are going to look at probability that is used in several games such as Connect 4, Farkle, Yahtzee, and more. We are going to look at strategy ideas that will help to develop you into a good problem solver when playing games. Come join the fun!

What makes your movie, podcast, or video game even better? Your own music! Get ideas and music coaching to produce your own background music. Find out about the science of sound and create your very own instrument in the process! Then get help as you compose and record your own digital song. You'll be able to write and record tracks that you can use for your upcoming tech creations and save to your personal playlist.

The Game Lab invites you to join us for Thinking Through Games, a week-long exploration of how we learn while playing games. Games are designed to present problems that require players to think critically, respond to new information, and find creative solutions. Our conversation will begin with learning about what elements go into a game and how they are used to immerse and engage players. We will utilize a variety of free games to explore these elements, including role-playing games (RPGs), simulations, and inquiry-based games. Let's play!
