Join K-State Salina in honoring 50 years at its Semicentennial Celebration
Kansas State University Salina is honoring its campus's 50th anniversary this year by celebrating with signature events throughout 2015.
On Friday, April 17, the university will host a formal evening of dinner, dessert, specialty cocktails and dueling pianos entertainment during the Semicentennial Celebration. K-State Salina welcomes anyone that would like to join the campus in commemorating its history and its future. The Semicentennial Celebration starts at 5:30 p.m. and will be in the Student Life Center. Tickets are $75 per person.
Fifty years ago, two Kansas State University faculty members helped create an engineering technology program that flourished into a college on the former Schilling Air Force Base in Salina. That college, named Schilling Institute in 1965, eventually went through two more transitions, as Kansas Technical Institute and Kansas College of Technology, before becoming K-State Salina in 1991. Today, K-State Salina offers 16 degree programs and one Professional Master of Technology.
Register for the Semicentennial Celebration.
