Spring 2016 Faculty Development Award and University Small Research Grant call for proposals
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, or ORSP, calls for proposals for the spring 2016 Faculty Development Award and University Small Research Grant.
Kansas State University faculty members ranked assistant professor and above who are interested in receiving assistance in their scholarly activities and professional development may submit a proposal. To be eligible, faculty members must have at least some percentage of their appointment devoted to research.
The President's Faculty Development Awards, or FDA, program provides support for travel to international meetings — primarily at international locations — or to meet with program officers from potential external sponsors.
The University Small Research Grants, or USRG, program is a "seed" grant program to support early research, scholarly activity and other creative efforts.
If you seek support for travel/projects occurring between July 1 and Dec. 31, apply for the spring competition. Applications are due March 7. For travel/projects occurring between Dec. 31 and July 1, 2017, apply for the fall competition. Applications are due Oct. 3.
Please attend one of the FDA and USRG information sessions to hear about the changes to this semester's application and review process based on input from the USRG/FDA Focus Group. The sessions will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, in 201 Leadership Studies Building and 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, in the K-State Alumni Center Lecture Room.
