Kansas Board of Regents April meeting agenda items
Dear K-State community,
The Kansas Board of Regents will meet April 17 at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. The board will consider the following agenda items during the meeting.
The Regents will act on fund investment lineup changes in the board's mandatory retirement plan. The Retirement Plan Committee recommended several fund lineup changes for TIAA and Voya. If approved, TIAA and Voya will inform affected participants of the changes.
The Regents will act on proposed amendments to several board policies. Policies to be amended include the expedited program approval process policy, the multiple year appointments of athletic directors and head coaches policy and the occupancy leases on state-owned property policy.
The Regents will receive program review reports for academic year 2017-2018. Board policy requires the board to maintain a program review cycle and a review process that allows each university to demonstrate that it is delivering quality programs consistent with its mission. The reviews assure the university continues to offer rigorous and relevant curricula. K-State submitted 32 degree programs for review representing the colleges of Agriculture, Engineering and Veterinary Medicine. All programs were recommended to continue. Two additional graduate programs with low enrollment and degrees conferred, the Professional Master of Technology and the master's and doctorate in genetics, were recommended for enhancement.
The Regents will receive the fiscal year 2021 capital improvement requests and five-year plans for first reading. Capital improvement projects include new buildings, remodeling or alterations, annual maintenance and utility projects for which costs exceed $1 million. View the projects.
Kansas State University requests to name the multicultural student center in honor of a notable alumnus. President Richard Myers will announce the name during the meeting.
