Join the K-State Book Network for a preview of the book that you helped select!
On Tuesday, March 13, the K-State Book Network will sponsor a book launch in honor of the 2012 book selection, Rebecca Skloot's "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks." The launch will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the K-State Student Union courtyard and conclude by noon.
Following brief remarks by K-State Book Network co-chair Stephen Kiefer and Provost April Mason, the K-State Book Network committee will present awards to students and faculty to recognize their inclusion of Dave Eggers' "Zeitoun" in fall 2011 classes. Tara Coleman, K-State Book Network co-chair, will then introduce the 2012 K-State Book Network selection to the campus community.
The launch will conclude with free raffle prizes for faculty, staff and students in attendance. Prizes include copies of Skloot's book and free tickets to a special showing of the film "The Hunger Games," sponsored by the Union Program Council the week after spring break.
