Bascom Lecture Series to feature renowned cancer researcher Web Cavenee
The Johnson Cancer Research Center at Kansas State University will host the upcoming Bascom Lecture Series featuring esteemed cancer researcher Web Cavenee, Ph.D., a pioneer in cancer genetics and director of strategic alliances in central nervous system cancers at Ludwig Cancer Research.
The lecture will take place at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in Fiedler Hall Auditorium.
Cavenee's groundbreaking work in the field of oncology has transformed the understanding of genetic abnormalities in cancer, specifically glioblastoma. His research has led to significant advancements in the development of targeted cancer therapies, making a global impact on the treatment of central nervous system cancers. The Bascom Lecture Series is open to the public, with free admission for students and faculty. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as seating is limited.
