Social Club upcoming events, registration now available
Would you like to meet new friends? Explore the world of wine? Share gourmet meals? Sample local microbrews? Needlecraft with friends? Share in creative journaling? Participate in a book club? Then, join the Kansas State University Social Club. Your first year of membership is free. After that, a yearly renewal is $15 per person or $25 per couple.
Social Club members and prospective members are gathering at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Lazy-T Ranch's Cowboy Cafe, 2103 Zeandale Road, Manhattan. We’ll meet for a short welcome from owner Ron Wilson, and then explore the ranch as we wish. This fun-filled day is perfect for the whole family. See the membership brochure for details. If you’re new or a returning member bring your completed membership form with you that day.
The Social Club program on Tuesday, Oct. 1, will feature Debbie Lyons–Blythe, 2012 America’s Farmers Mom of the Year. She will speak about "Life on a Kansas Cattle Ranch," with an update on beef and nutrition. The dinner and program will begin with a social hour and cash bar at 5:45 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the Manhattan Country Club.
To attend the Oct. 1 program, or for your name to appear in the membership directory, membership registration and payment must be received no later than Sept. 28. Please download and complete the member registration, October dinner reservation and the interest group and special event registration forms online.
Social Club membership is open to any of the following or their spouses: administrative officers, administrative assistants, faculty members of the rank of instructor or above, including visiting and regents professors, postdoctoral fellows, commissioned officers in the military science and aerospace departments, director and assistant directors of athletics, coaches and assistant coaches, government personnel with equivalent faculty rank working in conjunction with the university, and former faculty members in the above named categories.
Hope to see you Saturday or on Oct. 1.
