Register now for spring Online Course Design Institute

Submitted by Office of the Provost

The Online Course Design Institute is offered at no cost to faculty and graduate students, but limited seats are available. Register online now to reserve your spot in the spring session.

The institute is an eight-week program that will begin Feb. 3 for K-State faculty and graduate students who are currently teaching or who plan to develop an online course in the next year. The institute will be offered completely online to provide participants the opportunity to experience the online learner's perspective.

Learners will engage in three weekly modules followed by one-on-one collaboration with an instructional designer to fully design and develop an online course. This will provide opportunities for personalized feedback. Participants successfully completing all requirements will earn a certificate of completion.

  • Module 1: Course Goals and Objectives
  • Module 2: Teaching Philosophies and Communication
  • Module 3: Technology and Teaching
  • Module 4: Course Development

Basic knowledge of Canvas is required. If you need Canvas training prior to the institute or have any questions about the program, please contact instructional designers at the Center for Academic Innovation in the Office of Academic Affairs and Innovation or Joshua Krohn at K-State Salina.
