K-State Golf Course Foundation hires new Colbert Hills general manager
The Kansas State University Golf Course Management and Research Foundation has hired a new general manager for Colbert Hills, Steve Lambert, who began his new position Sept. 27.
Lambert spent eight years in the Navy as a fighter pilot, which culminated in a two-year tour as a demonstration pilot with the Blue Angels. After his Navy tour, he spent 17 years with Jim Colbert Golf and Golf Enterprises as senior vice president of operations. When the company was sold in the late 1990s, he became the owner of a small business. After closing that business, he was hired as the general manager of Oakmont Country Club in Denton, Texas.
Lambert is a graduate of Oregon State University and has a daughter who is an Oregon State graduate as well. He is excited about Colbert Hills and looks forward to getting to know all the customers of the golf course and Colbert's restaurant. Lambert is dedicated to making Colbert Hills the place to be in not only Kansas, but all of the Midwest.
