Social Club celebrates 100th anniversary
Founded in November 1911, the Kansas State University Social Club, one of the oldest faculty organizations in the country and a campus tradition under eight Kansas State University presidents and their wives, is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
While the activities and events sponsored by Social Club have evolved over the years, its primary purpose remains the same: to promote interdisciplinary social interactions for members of the K-State family.
Eligible members have the opportunity to socialize and network with other members of the campus community by attending monthly programs, participating in interest groups, and attending special events. Of particular interest this year are the events in November celebrating the club’s 100th anniversary. In addition to our general membership meeting luncheon where we will commemorate the founding of our organization, K-State’s first lady, Noel Schulz, has kindly invited Social Club members to attend a tea at the president’s residence.
We are pleased to waive the first year’s membership fee to new members. We encourage you to take this opportunity to get acquainted with fellow faculty from departments across campus. For more information regarding programs, special events, and interest groups, please visit our website at www.k-state.edu/socialclub.
