Entomologist to speak on precision pest management
Yong-Lak Park, associate professor of entomology in the Division of Plant and Soil Sciences at West Virginia University, has been invited to visit Kansas State University by the Popenoe Entomology Club, and will be presenting the seminar, “Spatially-Targeted Pest Management Using Geospatial and Aerospace Technologies,” at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, in 103 Cardwell Hall.
His seminar is open to all interested parties. Park is conducting groundbreaking work in the use of unmanned aerial systems and geospatial referencing to improve the management of insect pests. This technology provides an exceptional opportunity to reduce pesticide and energy inputs in agricultural production.
